Hooray for Hardy!

April 25, 2008

We’re thrilled to see Canonical fully integrate DRBD into the new Long-Term Support (LTS) Ubuntu Server Edition release, 8.04 “Hardy Heron”. This is the first stable Debian-based release to come with full binary package support for DRBD, so module-assistant invocations are a thing of the past on this platform. The Canonical press release is here for you to read.

We expect the “original” Debian GNU/Linux to follow suit when the next Debian release (lenny) goes stable.

DRBD covered in German Linux tech mag

August 10, 2007

If you speak German and are interested in DRBD and High Availability, this month’s Linux Technical Review issue is for you. LTR is an offshoot of Linux-Magazin aimed directly at the information technology professional and packs a whopping 144 pages dedicated to a single technical topic.

Issue #04, covering high availability technology for Linux, hits the stores next Tuesday (August 14) and contains a 5-page article on DRBD. If your local store doesn’t have LTR in stock, you can apparently also order from here.

Note: Like just about everyone, the LTR guys sometimes misspell DRBD as “DRDB”. Forgive them. :-)
